India and Pakistan played their first T20 World Cup match on September 24, 2007 at Kingsmead Durban. The match ended in a tie where both teams scored 141 runs. The tie-breaker, a bowl-out, saw India triumph 3-0, showcasing their coolness under pressure. 
 

 

T20 World Cup 2007 final

 After ten days, India again faced Pakistan for the final of the T20 World Cup 2007 at the Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg. Gautam Gambhir's 75-run innings helped India to register their maiden title by five runs. 

 

T20 World Cup 2012: After 2007, Pakistan faced India in the 2012 T20 World Cup at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on September 30, 2012. It was Lakshmipathy Balaji’s 3-wicket haul and an unbeaten winning 78 runs knock from Virat Kohli helped India to register an 8-wicket win.

2014 ICC World Twenty20, Group Stage


 India faced Pakistan in the group stage match of the 2014 T20 World Cup on 21, 2014, at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. Pakistan managed to score just 130 runs in 20 overs. Virat Kohli anchored India's chase by scoring 36 not out to register a seven-wicket win against the arch-rivals.

 

T20 World Cup 2021


India faced Pakistan in 2021 T20 World Cup which was played in Dubai on October 24, 2021. That was the first time Pakistan created history by beating India in a T20 World Cup match and that too by ten wickets.

T20 World Cup 2022

 

India versus Pakistan's last T20 World Cup match was played in 2022 at Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne, Australia. Pakistan were confident after beating India for the first time and they scored 159/8 where Iftikhar Ahmed and Shan Masood scored half-centuries. India were off to a shaky start and Virat Kohli anchored the innings by scoring an unbeaten 82 runs knock and India won that match by four wickets.
