The Kansas City Chiefs were embarrassingly defeated against Philadelphia Eagles in the 2025 Super Bowl. Chiefs had the perfect opportunity to make it third consecutive title wins but the reality was far from what they imagined. The score line read 40-22.
Andy Reid and Chiefs have decided to bolster their squad with addition of 13 news players after 2025 NFL draft. Travis Kelce has already made it clear that he will not retire and will at least play for the team for the final year. Despite his stellar performance and Kelce returning to Arrowhead Stadium, Chiefs are planning to prepare a tight end replacement for his role.
New Additions
They have added offensive options by roping in Josh Simmons with their first round pick and later added Jalen Royals and Brashard Smith.
After their three picks Chiefs went to undrafted market and brought 13 players with whopping deal of $259,000 offered to Dalton Cooper. Interestingly his contract also has a $25,000 signing bonus as the team is desperate to win their fourth Super Bowl Championship since 2019.
Chiefs eyeing Mahomes as a weakness
The underlying theme for the Chiefs in this draft has been how they have been targeting the offensive line and it may come as a surprise but their lack of faith in their superstar Patrick Mahomes' abilities is the reason for the same. He had a decent 26 touchdown score last year but Eagles was successful in exposing his play and chiefs would like to rewrite history.
