Greg Jennings was once Aaron Rodgers' top offensive target when both players played for the Green Bay Packers from 2006 to  2012. It was in 2019 that Jennings revealed that he wasn't close to his former teammate when he left the franchise after the 2012 National Football League (NFL).

What did Aaron Rodgers say according to Greg Jennings?

The revelations by Jennings came as a part of an in-depth story done by Bleacher Report in 2019. The former wide receiver recalled a match against the San Francisco 49ers during the 2012 season.

He revealed that 49ers cornerback Carlos Rodgers asked him about running short routes during the game which later on Jennings blamed on his contract year.

He then mentioned that Rodgers walked up to him and told him to go and play for the 49ers the following season.

"You guys should get him at the end of the year," This is what Rodgers said according to Jennings.

The former wide receiver for the Packers was left confused and upset at what his quarterback had told him.

"I don't think he realizes what he said and the impact that it had. Had the shoe been on the other foot and I said, 'Hey, man, I should come and play with your quarterback', he would've been so offended by that. But when it comes out of his mouth — and we all know there's truth behind jokes — for him to say that and just act as though everything was the same? It just wasn't," Jennings said.

It was at this point that Jennings realized that his time with the Packers was coming to an end. He signed for the Minnesota Vikings in 2013.

Aaron Rodgers has too much input with Jets: Greg Jennings

Greg Jennings and Aaron Rodgers have not played together since 2012. But times have changed as Jennings thinks differently about Rodgers. After Robert Saleh's dismissal from the New York Jets, Jennings spoke about Rodgers's role in the Jets' decision-making on 'Breakfast Ball'.

He feels that Rodgers influenced Jets' owner Woody Johnson to part ways with Saleh.

"And when you have empowered a player in the way that they have, and this goes from Robert Saleh to Hackett, obviously, and all the way up to Woody Johnson, because for them to have a conversation, it tells me that he has too much say, he has too much input on things that he really shouldn't have input on," Jennings concluded.
