Tom Brady has never been shy of sharing his thoughts and this time, he's opened up about his long-lasting relationship with his former New England Patriots head coach, Bill Belichick.

What did Tom Brady say about Bill Belichick?

Tom Brady and Bill Belichick were an iconic duo back in the day in the National Football League (NFL) as both of them spent many years together at the Patriots, winning multiple Super Bowl titles.

After making an appearance on FS1's 'The Herd', Brady said that there's much more to their bond as compared to what people think.

This all started when the host of the show, Colin Cowherd asked Brady that has his relationship with Belichick has mellowed down as they went separate ways. They even joked about how Belichick seemed 'like a teddy bear' now which is a complete contrast to what he used to be.

We always had a great relationship, we still do. I know there was a lot of things later in my career that people would say, to try to create division. I think there was always a great respect for each other, Brady said.

He then mentioned that in their long 20-year relationship, there were times when they didn't agree with a couple of things but that hasn't changed anything with how they felt about each other.

Were there times when we didn’t see everything eye to eye? Yeah, but that’s 20 years of a relationship. … I’m not characterizing our relationship based on a few moments that weren’t perfect for either of us, he further said.

We had as great of a relationship as you could have over a long period of time … There’s no coach I would have rather played for than him, Brady added.

The future Hall of Famer event went onto say that Belichick had created a 'team first' environment which helped the Patriots.

I think the culture that I was a part of in New England embraced a team-first attitude. What are the rewards of that? Championships are one, but more importantly than that, I have relationships with my teammates that go way far above and beyond what they were on the football field, Brady concluded.

Lastly, the quarterback finished by saying that the time he spent at the New England Patriots was among the best of his life.

Bill Belichick wants the Lombardi Trophy's name changed

Bill Belichick recently suggested that the iconic Lombardi Trophy should be renamed to honor Tom Brady. The Lombardi Trophy is given to the Super Bowl champion.

Belichick feels having good players in the team adds to the teams success. But, when the topic shifted towards the Lombardi Trophy, sportscaster Jim Gray told that the trophy is named after the Vince Lombardi, the legendary Green Bay Packers coach.

Maybe they should name it the Brady Trophy. He[Tom Brady] won seven of them, Belichick replied.

Belichick along with Brady have won six Super Bowl titles together (XXXVI, XXXVIII, XXXIX, XLIX, LI and LIII). Tom Brady won his seventh Super Bowl title in 2021 with Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
