Story Highlights:

Tom Brady is in his first season of Broadcasting.

NFL RedZone host Scott Hanson criticized Brady’s lack of excitement during a Cowboys-Browns game.

Tom Brady is in his first season as a Broadcaster, Despite the rich experience and being one of the GOAT of the game broadcasting is a different game all-together. Tom Brady’s first season in the broadcast booth has garnered mixed reactions, with some fans and critics expressing dissatisfaction with his performance. According to Andrew Marchand from The Athletic, Brady might not need to focus on improving his commentary skills, as the media insider predicts that the former NFL quarterback will walk away from his lucrative 10-year, $375 million deal with Fox after just one season.

Marchand’s Bold Prediction

In his report, Marchand shared his thoughts on Brady’s future in broadcasting, noting, “I’d put down big money that Brady will not finish his 10-year, $375 million contract with Fox, given all his various business interests away from broadcasting, including ownership. That remains true. The safer prediction would be that Brady walks away from his Fox deal after three or four years. But I’m going bold and saying Brady gets deeper involved with the Las Vegas Raiders in the offseason and decides to go all in with NFL ownership and his production company by the start of the next NFL season.”

Brady’s Involvement with the Las Vegas Raiders

In October, NFL owners approved Brady’s purchase of a minority stake in the Las Vegas Raiders, which led to limitations on his role as a Fox analyst. Brady is now restricted from attending weekly production meetings with players and coaches, is prohibited from entering another team’s facility, and cannot observe practices. This situation has likely contributed to his reduced presence and influence in the booth.

Criticism of Brady’s Broadcast Debut

Brady's time in the broadcast booth has faced its share of criticism, starting in Week 1. NFL RedZone host Scott Hanson criticized Brady’s lack of excitement during a Cowboys-Browns game when kicker Brandon Aubrey was about to attempt a potential record-breaking 71-yard field goal. Hanson commented, “Oh come on, Brady has gotta get more excited than that in the booth.”

The next day, Hanson apologized for his remarks, acknowledging that his criticism was “unfair.”

Bill Simmons of The Ringer also expressed dissatisfaction with Brady’s performance. After a Week 9 matchup between the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers, Simmons said, “I just really wanted better announcers for it. He just doesn’t tell me enough.”

Future Plans and Speculation

If Marchand’s prediction proves accurate, fans may not have to worry about Brady’s commentary for much longer. His business ventures, including ownership interests in the NFL and his production company, could lead him to leave the booth in favor of a different role within the league. Whether Brady’s broadcast career ends after one season or stretches a bit longer remains to be seen, but for now, the NFL and its fans are keeping a close eye on his next steps.
