Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce have become one of the most talked-about celebrity couples in the world, drawing attention from fans far beyond the realms of music and football. Even NASCAR isn’t immune to the Swift-Kelce buzz—just ask Josh Berry.

During a recent episode of the Rubbin is Racing podcast, NASCAR driver Josh Berry revealed that he went to high school with Taylor Swift. While that fact seems minor to him, it has become a frequent talking point in interviews and fan interactions.

"It's one of those things when you're doing an interview one day and somebody's like, 'Hey, what's a funny, crazy story about you?'" Berry recalled. "I'm like, 'Oh, I went to school with Taylor Swift.' You don't think that's that big of a deal. But good gosh, man. It never ends."

From Taylor Swift to Travis Kelce: A Never-Ending Cycle of Questions

The curiosity doesn’t stop at Swift. Berry says the public’s fascination with her now extends to her high-profile relationship with NFL star Travis Kelce—even though he has no connection to the football player.

"Then she starts dating Travis Kelce and it all comes back again," Berry explained. "I'm like, 'I don't care about Travis Kelce. He has nothing to do with me.' It just never ends."

Just Trying to Focus on Racing

Anyone could see that Berry is not against Swift or Kelce in the analysis he carried to the media. On the other hand, he gets overly bored by how often it overshadows his racing career. Surely, the fans can view that as trivia fun fact about him having been with Swift; but then again, Berry really would like to be leaving the spotlight to shine just at his NASCAR work be it some fun with someone he attended school with and another celebrity he never met.

Their star power does not just stop there but transcend music and sport into other aspects of life.

As Swift-Kelce continue making headlines and stirring suspense on fans, it's no surprise that their influence transcends across unrelated sports like NASCAR. While some of us, like Berry, might be tired of continuing such fascination, it's effect on the larger picture is obvious.

From the NFL standpoint, the increased publicity caused by the Swift involvement is perceived in the positive falsehood of building interest in football among new audiences. However, for Josh Berry of NASCAR, it's just the same old question he wants to leave behind on his rearview mirror.
