India and Pakistan are back again to feed cricket fans a high-voltage cricketing drama as the arch-rivals lock horns with each other in their Asia Cup's Chapter Two clash in Colombo on September 10, Sunday. In the crunch game against Pakistan, Rohit Sharma made significant changes in India's Playing XI. He brought in KL Rahul but at the cost of Shreyas Iyer. India's pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah too returned to fold to replace Mohammed Shami.

But what caught everyone's attention was Shreyas Iyer's exclusion. However after the toss India skipper Rohit Sharma revealed reason behind Shreyas' absence and said the star batter picked a back spasm ahead of the match.

After losing the toss Rohit said," Looking to bat first. There will be a challenge upfront, but the way we guys batted last time around gives us confidence. Every game is important for us, but one thing at a time to focus on. (On rain delays) That's the nature of the sport, it gave us good time to prepare and now we'll look to play well. Two changes - Bumrah is back and one forced change, Shreyas Iyer just got a back spasm so KL Rahul comes in for him."

Notably, Shreyas after coming from a long injury layoff scored a 9-ball 14 riding on two fours against Pakistan on September 2. However due to persistent rain the match was called off.

Meanwhile Pakistan skipper Babar Azam decided to bowl first after winning the toss.

“We will bowl first. I think there is a bit of moisture, we need to use that. Always, India Pakistan is high intensity, but we will take it match to match. As a team, we are playing well, we are focused on this one. No changes,” Babar said after the toss.

Pitch Report

“The sun is out, and there isn't a grey cloud in the sky. The curators also watered the pitch, so that's a sign that the weather might have changed. We've got a bit of grass covering on this pitch. The pitch might have a bit for the pacers with the new ball, and the spinners will get purchase because of the moisture underneath,” Sanjay Manjrekar & Waqar Younis analysed the pitch.
