KL Rahul roared with the bat in the Asia Cup's Super Four showdown against Pakistan and cracked a spellbinding century in his comeback match at the Premadasa stadium in Colombo on September 11, Monday.

Signifying more than just another century, this was Rahul's comeback match post a prolonged injury break. His blistering hundred, achieved in just 100 balls, not only re-established his prominence in international cricket but also signified the right decision taken by both the team management and selectors who kept their faith in him.

The stunning century marks KL Rahul's 6th in ODIs and stands out as his maiden ton against the formidable arch-rivals, Pakistan. With this impressive feat, Rahul has engraved his name alongside legendary Indian cricketers. He now stands tall with stalwarts such as Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Shikhar Dhawan, and Rohit Sharma, being the 5th Indian batter to secure a century against Pakistan during the men's Asia Cup tournament.

However, Rahul wasn't the only one making headlines during this high-voltage match. Indian cricket's maestro, Virat Kohli, was quick to follow suit. In a breathtaking display of skill and determination, Kohli raced to his century in a mere 84 balls. This majestic century adds another feather to Kohli's cap, being his 47th in ODIs. But the records didn't stop there. Kohli added another milestone to his illustrious career by becoming the fastest cricketer to reach 13,000 ODI runs. In achieving this, he surpassed a monumental record previously held by the cricketing legend, Sachin Tendulkar.

After resuming the day from 147/2, the dazzling duo of KL Rahul and Virat Kohli combined to take Pakistani bowlers to cleaners. While Kohli pummelled nine fours and three sixes, KL clobbered 12 fours and two sixes in their respective knocks. The fantastic batting pair stitched together a colossal partnership of 233 runs to take India to a big total of 356/2.
