During a recent media interaction, Rizwan made it clear that he's open to batting at any position that benefits the squad.

Highlighting the versatility in Pakistan's batting order, Rizwan threw his weight behind opener Fakhar Zaman, who, despite facing a challenging Asia Cup so far, is being looked upon to reclaim his form. Zaman's recent performances have been underwhelming, with a cumulative score of 34 runs from two innings in the ongoing Asia Cup. Yet, the trust within the team framework remains steadfast. Rizwan optimistically remarked on Zaman's diverse dismissals, indicating that it's just a matter of time before the opener finds his rhythm.

"Fakhar Zaman has recently been 'player of the month' as far as I can recall. It has been circulating that Fakhar Zaman isn't in form, but if you see the early part of his last few innings, the ball is coming on to his bat nicely, but he's been getting out in different ways," said Rizwan.

Furthermore, showcasing his team-first approach, Rizwan iterated his readiness to adjust according to the team's needs. His adaptable mindset was evident when he anchored Pakistan's innings with a composed unbeaten 63 against Bangladesh in the Super-4 stage in Lahore.

"If he was getting out in the same pattern, then we could have concluded that there might be a [technical] fault. We are hoping that we don't need to change our opening combination, but even if there's any need, then it's up to the management. Personally, I am ready for any position," Rizwan added.

In an interesting turn of events, considering the unpredictable weather forecasts predicting thunderstorms in Colombo on the match day, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has prudently scheduled a reserve day on September 11.

Form-wise, Pakistan steps onto the field with notable confidence, having clinched comprehensive victories in both their matches. Contrarily, India's exposure in the tournament is limited – they've had the chance to bat one and a half times and showcase their bowling prowess in just a single match.
