Australia continued their Day 1 dominance in the ongoing third Test against India on Day 2 as well. Then came back again to pester Indian batters for measly 163 in the second innings on Day 2 on Thursday (March 2) as they now need just 76 runs to win the third Test to mark a stunning comeback in the four-match series which now stands at 2-0. In India's second innings Cheteshwar Pujara was the only batter who dared to put up some resistance before Nathan Lyon's spin wizardry who followed his first innings three-fer with a sensational eight-fer in the second innings to leave Indian batters in lurch.

Australia continued their Day 1 dominance in the ongoing third Test against India on Day 2 as well. Then came back again to pester Indian batters for measly 163 in the second innings on Day 2 on Thursday (March 2) as they now need just 76 runs to win the third Test to mark a stunning comeback in the four-match series which now stands at 2-0.

In India's second innings Cheteshwar Pujara was the only batter who dared to put up some resistance before Nathan Lyon's spin wizardry who followed his first innings three-fer with a sensational eight-fer in the second innings to leave Indian batters in lurch.

Pujara was batting on 59 off 142 but a sensational effort from Steve Smith off Lyon' bowling saw him walking the longest walk towards pavilion. In 57th over, Pujara tried to flick Lyon’s delivery, but failed to get the ball past diving Smith at leg slip who grabbed an unbelievable one-handed catch to his right to dismiss Pujara and leave India reeling once again. This was the 13th time when Lyon munched on Pujara's wicket in the longest format of the game.

Lyon didn't stop there, in the same over he dismissed Umesh Yadav on a duck and by then it was all over for India who were bundled out for just 163, handing Australia a lowly 76-run target to chase.

It will be a good chance for Australia to win the match and keep the Border-Gavaskar series alive which now stands for 2-0 after two Tests. If Australia manage to win the match, they will become the first team to enter the World Test Championship 2021-2023 final.

Talking about the series, Indian drew the first blood with a convincing victory by an innings and 132 runs and then followed it up with a six wicket triumph in the second one.
