CWG 2022: Sharath & Sreeja pair continues India's medal spree, dazzles with historic gold in Table Tennis

India's star duo of Achanta Sharath Kamal and Sreeja Akula bagged historic gold in mixed doubles Table Tennis with a 3-1 victory over Malaysian pair of Javen Choon and Karen in the ongoing Commonwealth Games 2022 on Monday (August 8).

India's star duo of Achanta Sharath Kamal and Sreeja Akula bagged historic gold in mixed doubles Table Tennis with a 3-1 victory over Malaysian pair of Javen Choon and Karen in the ongoing Commonwealth Games 2022 on Monday (August 8). 

 

The Indian pair, barring the second game, looked in complete control of the contest, as they earned a facile win against the Malaysians with a scoreline of 11-4, 9-11, 11-5, 11-6.

 

Sharath produced a class act to also reach the men's singles final. The 40-year-old paddler, who won a bronze medal in the last edition in Gold Coast, defeated home country's Paul Drinkhall 11-8, 11-8, 8-11, 11-7, 9-11, 11-8 to reach his second CWG final.
