'It is going to get bigger and louder': India captain Rohit Sharma fires warning to New Zealand ahead of crunch match

Captain Rohit Sharma knows the importance of getting support from fans and the Indian skipper affirmed that the crowd is only going get bigger and louder as the tournament progresses.

After making it four wins in as many matches played in the ongoing ODI World Cup thus far, Team India's next assignment promises to be a pulsating affair. Rohit Sharma's men are scheduled to cross swords against in-form New Zealand in their next match in Dharamshala on October 22 (Sunday). With India and New Zealand being the only two undefeated teams in the 2023 World Cup so far, the upcoming contest is billed to be a blockbuster affair.

India will have a slight advantage against the Blackcaps as they will be playing in front of their home crowd. Captain Rohit knows the importance of getting support from fans and the Indian skipper affirmed that the crowd is only going get bigger and louder as the tournament progresses.

"Everyone in the squad has gone through pressure, the crowd is coming in big numbers, the stands are full, they haven't disappointed us, they've been brilliant and I'm sure they'll be louder and louder as we move on," Rohit told host broadcaster after the game against Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, it was a classic Virat Kohli run chase for India when they took down Bangladesh by seven wickets at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune in an ODI World Cup clash. From timing a cover drive to timing a century, Kohli displayed impeccable game awareness and was dully assisted by his partner-in-crime KL Rahul. In the end, over a million fans got their wishes granted as Kohli not only completed his century but remained unbeaten on 103 runs off 97 balls.

Shubman Gill scored 53 runs off 55 balls with the help of five fours and two sixes while Iyer could only manage 19 runs off 25 balls on what looked like a batting paradise of a wicket. Captain Rohit once again gave India a flying start and scored 48 runs off 40 balls.
