The qualifying rounds of the ICC T20 World Cup have begun and the qualifying teams have started their journeys. Amidst the double hat-trick and acrobatic catches in the warm-up and round 1 matches, there is something that has caught the attention of all the cricket fans. Donning the purple-coloured uniform with shades of black and an abstract design, the Scotland jersey has become a fan favourite. The fact that makes it most special is that the jersey has been designed by a 12-year-old schoolgirl. Cricket Scotland has come up with a special thank you tweet for the young Rebecca Downie after the appreciation they have received for the jersey.

‘Following the game wearing the jersey she designed herself’
Scotland cricket tweeted, “Scotland’s kit designer. 12-year-old Rebecca Downie from Haddington. She was following our first game on TV, proudly sporting the shirt she designed herself. Thank you again, Rebecca! #FollowScotland | #PurpleLids”.
The cricket board also added a picture of Rebecca donning the jersey with a wide smile on her face besides the TV.

Scotland through to Super 12s
In the first match of the campaign, Scotland staged an impressive comeback to stun Bangladesh with a six-wicket win. Scotland all-rounder Chris Greaves was outstanding with both bat and ball to upset the in-form Bangladesh, who were favourite to top the group. The Scottish side also proved to be too good for an inexperienced Papua New Guinea in their second match and became the first team to qualify for Super 12s.
