Shastri, who is commentating on the three-match Test series between Australia and Pakistan, emphasised Kohli's unparalleled training intensity and commitment to excelling against top-tier competition. The broadcasters brought up Kohli's name, underscoring his batting might. They highlighted Kohli's impact on global stage, despite India not being involved in the current series.

“What Virat Kohli makes so good is his desire, his work ethics and his passion for the game. His desire to perform against best in the world. His sacrifices is huge and no trains and practice harder than Virat Kohli. This makes Virat so different from others. Virat Kohli’s some of the best batting came against Australia in Australia. His Hundred at Perth a very tough pitch. He loves to perform against Australia and he wants to competes everytime,” Shastri told Fox Cricket.
 

Shastri characterised Kohli as a leading representative of Test cricket, emphasising his strong commitment to the format. Shastri voiced optimism that, given Kohli's outstanding fitness and fervor for cricket, he would remain active in the sport for at least another four years.

 

“Virat Kohli kept Test cricket going & there are very few Ambassadors of Tests like Virat Kohli in the World Cricket. I hope Virat Kohli will play at least 4 years. Because he is extremely fit and desire and passion still so much there in him. And the World wants to see him on the field more,” Shastri further added.

 

Kohli will next be seen in the upcoming Test series against South Africa which is scheduled to be played from December 26.
