After breaching the Centurion fortress, Virat Kohli's team India is now standing on the threshold of creating history. Team India started the South African tour with a thumping 113-run win and took a 1-0 lead in the three-match Test series. India, who have never won a Test series, are only a step away end a 29-year drought.

Going by India's red-hot form and momentum, their chances of claiming the second match are pretty high. If we look at the statistics, India, in the last 29 years, have never lost a Test match at the ground where the second Test is to be played. Moreover, Virat's willow has also roared.

Statistics favour India
After clinching the first Test match, team India's caravan has now reached the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg for the second Test match in the new year. Indian players also started practicing on the first day of the new year. In such a situation, if we look at the data, then Team India has not lost at this ground to date. India made the first tour of South Africa in the year 1992 and since then Team India has played five Test matches at Wanderers.

Out of all the matches played by India, two matches have been won and three matches have been drawn. This implies, the ground has been very lucky for India and the way Team India has performed in the first test match. Looking at that, it can be said that the figures will also support India and they might end up being the victors by sealing the series. With this India will register their first Test series victory on South African soil.

Virat's connection with Wanderers
While Team India holds a record of never losing on this ground, Virat has a special connection as well. It looks like Wanderers suits Indian skipper's batting going by the stats. If his bat manages to deliver yet again, it will not only end the 29-years Test series-winning drought, but will also end Virat's century drought which has been going on for the last two years. The 33-year-old has played two Test matches at Wanderers so far.

Riding on the winning wheels, India will now take on South Africa at the Johannesburg ground from January 3 for the second Test. In case if India failed to win the match or play a draw for that matter, they will still have a chance to win the series in the third Test. On the other hand, South Africa, who are trailing the series 0-1, will look to make a comeback and force a decider.
