Former South African fast bowler Dale Steyn, known for his fiery pace and impeccable line and length could not resist himself from taking part in the on-field drama that took place during the third day’s play in the second Test match, being played between India and South Africa, in Johannesburg.

Tension seemed to have risen in the 54th over (India’s second innings) when South African bowler Marco Jansen was in full rage and hoping to dismiss India’s Jasprit Bumrah, facing the South African youngster. The two ultimately got engaged in a verbal spat after Bumrah could not properly hit a delivery. Straight after the ball, both the players came down the pitch and got involved in a heated conversation.

Steyn, while replying to a tweet posted by Cricket South Africa’s (CSA) High-Performance Manager Vincent Barnes, instructed Bumrah “learn to take it.”

Steyn comes up with a reply

“I swear I remember Bumrah doing the same thing to a Mr James Anderson not too long ago. Learn to take it kid," Steyn tweeted.

Steyn replied to the tweet that said, "That look from Marco at Bumrah. Yep, if you dish it out you will receive it."

Steyn, although was not the only one who commented on this issue. Former India batsman Sanjay Manjrekar came out and said that this is one aspect of Bumrah which he does not like much.

“This anger thing is interesting. It happened in England as well. I don’t like this side of Bumrah. It’s a side of Bumrah I don’t want to see too much of. I like it when things get really hot, he has a smile on his face, like he usually does,” Manjrekar said during a conversation on ESPN Cricinfo.

Pant-van der Dussen involved in argument

But this is not the only time that the second Test match experienced a heated argument between two opponent players. Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant also got involved with South Africa’s Rassie van der Dussen.

After van der Dussen was heard saying something Pant, the Indian wicketkeeper promptly replied back, “If you have half knowledge, then keep your mouth shut.”

And dan der Dussen’s ploy seemed to pay off finally as Pant was eventually sent back to the pavilion scoring a duck.
