Team India’s Test captain Virat Kohli will hold a press conference on Wednesday (December 15) as Team India gets ready for the South Africa tour. The virtual press conference will be held at 1:00 PM IST. Kohli is expected to answer a string of questions which include his involvement in the ODI squad, while he is also expected to open up on the injury issues that have hampered the preparations of the team.
Kohli has been in news in the past 24 hours as reports of him not getting involved in the ODI squad have intensified. This will be the first time that Kohli will face the media after getting sacked from the ODI captaincy. The controversial sacking is one of the reasons why the rumours are getting more intensified of Kohli not getting involved.
The 33-year-old relinquished his captaincy from the T20I team with the conclusion of T20 World Cup 2021, but he intended to captain the ODI team. The Delhi-born batter will continue to captain the Test side but will be interesting to see how he answers the barrage of questions that have led to speculations in the previous week.
Team India is all set to board their charter flight to South Africa on Wednesday (December 15) as all the players and support staff served their mandatory quarantine. The team is also expected to serve another phase of quarantine in South Africa as the first Test match begins in Centurion on December 26. Rohit who was appointed as the vice-captain of the Test will also miss the tour as the team management is yet to appoint a new deputy skipper.
