Team India captain Rohit Sharma was seen in a new avatar ahead of the first Test match against West Indies which is scheduled to begin on July 12 in Dominica. The Indian skipper donned the hat of a reporter and grilled vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane will some interesting questions. India a video shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the Hitman asked Rahane about what suggestion he would give to younger players on how to play in West Indies.

Rohit Sharma: You have played a lot of cricket in West Indies. So, what advice would you give to younger players?

Ajinkya Rahane: My advice to every batter would be to have patience when you play in West Indies.

Rohit Sharma: How important is it for cricketers to focus on their tasks while touring other countries?

Ajinkya Rahane: It is important to focus on the main thing rather than keeping yourself occupied with other things.

Rahane, who made a comeback into the Indian Test side for the 2023 World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia, performed exceedingly well in his comeback match and ended up being India's top-scorer in the Test match.

The veteran India batter reflected on his previous tenure as the vice-captain of India and reiterated his desire to represent the country for a more time despite being 35 years old.

"I am used to this role. I was vice-captain for almost four-five years," said Rahane.

"I am really happy to be back in the team and really happy to be back as a vice-captain.

"I am still young. Thereโ€™s still a lot of cricket in me. I had a good IPL and domestic season. I have grown in confidence as a batsman but in the past one and half year I have also worked a lot on my fitness.

"I have worked on few aspects of my batting. At the moment I am enjoying my cricket. I am not thinking too much about the future. For now every match is important for me,โ€ he added.
