After the doubleheader on April 21 (Sunday), the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 points table has witnessed significant changes in the teams' positions. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), following their fifth win of the season against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on April 21, have moved to the second spot in the points table. KKR has displaced the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), who now stand in third place. SRH also secured their fifth win of the season against the Delhi Capitals (DC) on April 20.
Gujarat Titans jump two spots
Meanwhile, the Gujarat Titans (GT) defeated the Punjab Kings (PBKS) by three wickets, securing their fourth win of the season in Mullanpur on April 21. GT has climbed from the eighth to the sixth spot in the points table. Consequently, Mumbai Indians (MI) now sit in the seventh spot, while DC, with just three wins from eight matches, find themselves in eighth position. DC lost their last match against SRH by 67 runs.
CSK, LSG in 4th and 5th place respectively
However, defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK), with four wins from seven matches, sit at the fourth spot in the points table. Following CSK is Lucknow Super Giants, who recently defeated CSK by eight wickets on April 19. LSG has won four out of seven matches.
The Punjab-based franchise, with just two wins from eight matches, sits in the ninth spot, followed by RCB, who have suffered seven losses from eight matches and find themselves at the bottom. RCB were defeated by just 1 run against KKR on April 21 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals (RR) remain the table toppers, securing six wins from seven matches. RR will meet the five-time champions MI on April 22 in Jaipur.
