MS Dhoni has turned 42 and is still up and running for CSK in IPL.

Former India captain MS Dhoni is aging like a fine wine as he is still up and running in the cricket field for five-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) even at the age of 42. The legendary Dhoni is still defying age and grabbing some stunning catches and showing his impeccable reflexes behind the wickets. Of late, in one of the IPL 2024 matches, Dhoni left everyone stunned by pulling off a full stretch catch. During the match against Gujarat Titans (GT), CSK all-rounder Daryl Mitchell bowled a full length delivery around the off-stump to Vijay Shankar. GT's star batter Vijay Shankar attempted a straight drive but the ball nicked his bat and went straight to Dhoni, and the legendary wicketkeeper went after the ball like a leopard and grabbed the ball to send the marching orders to the GT batter.
This was vintage Dhoni catch who dived to his right caught it spectacularly like he used to take in his younger days. Witnessing their Thala’s stunning catch Chennai crowd erupted in joy. However, the match also saw CSK batter Ajinkya Rahane take the blinder by diving forward to dismiss GT's explosive batter David Miller.

Virender Sehwag calls MS Dhoni, ‘Buzurg’

Meanwhile, during a conversation with Cricbuzz, former India opener Virender Sehwag heaped praise both on Dhoni and Rahane for their incredible performances on the field. However, Sehwag went a step further and while taking a dig at Dhoni’s age called him ‘Buzurg’ (old).

“Catches win matches. Ajinkya Rahane picked a good catch so did Rachin Ravindra. Buzurg MS Dhoni also picked one”.

Meanwhile, former India cricketer Rohan Gavaskar, who was also part of the show, pointed out to Sehwag and asked him, “You didn’t refer to Rahane as buzurg”.

On this, Sehwag answered that there is a significant age gap between Rahane and Dhoni.

He said, “Their age is not the same, there is a difference and Rahane is also fitter than MS Dhoni. There is a big difference between a 35-year-old and a 41-year-old. MS is getting old now there is no doubt about it”.
