Delhi Capitals (DC) take on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as Rishabh Pant-led side won the toss and opted to field first in their Indian Premier League (IPL) clash at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday (April 28).

As far as playing XIs are concerned, DC made two changes as Mitchell Marsh and Chetan Sakariya were included to the side in place of Khaleel Ahmed and Sarfaraz Ahmed. Meanwhile, KKR made three changes as Finch, Rana and Indrajith were brought in the side while Varun Chakravarthy, Shivam Mavi and Sam Billings were denied place in the playing XI.

"We're going to bowl first. The wicket looks on the drier side and dew might come in the latter half. Our strength has been backing each other. We have had hard times, but we stick together and moving forward together. Two changes: Khaleel and Sarfaraz are out, Marsh and Sakariya are in. Khaleel pulled his hamstring in the last game and Mitchell is coming out of Covid," DC skipper Rishabh Pant said after winning the toss.

"I would have looked to bowl as well because of the chasing history. But the dew has gone out completely and it is very humid as well. I feel the players have to stand up for themselves and take responsibility to finish games off themselves. We have three changes: Finch, Rana, Indrajith come in. The combinations haven't worked for us in the last few games, and we are trying to find a settled combination. We have to win six in six now to qualify, so one game at a time," KKR captain Shreyas Iyer said.

The Capitals are currently seventh on the points table with three wins in seven outings. Meanwhile, KKR are placed eighth having lost their last four games.

Kolkata Knight Riders come into the clash against Delhi Capitals having lost four on the trot. Meanwhile, DC suffered a 15-run loss against Rajasthan Royals (RR), a game marred by a no-ball controversy over a high full toss that also resulted in a one-match ban for assistant coach Pravin Amre.

Head-to-Head

When the head-to-head records in DC vs KKR matches are considered, KKR have a upper hand over DC, as they have won 16 of the 31 matches that have been played. DC have defeated KKR on 14 occasions. In the last five games, KKR have won three, while DC follow with two wins. The last time both teams clashed in the IPL 2022, DC emerged as the winners by a hefty margin of 44 runs.

Pitch report

"We're back on the same pitch that produced an absolute humdinger last night. The surface is good, absolutely spectacular. The bowlers need to produce this evening, because the batsmen would be licking their lips," former England star batter Kevin Pietersen analyses the Wankhede pitch.
