The third-placed Rajasthan Royals (RR) take on charged-up Delhi Capitals (DC) as Rishabh Pant-led side won the toss and opted to bowl first in their IPL match at Wankhede Stadium on Friday (April 22).
As far as playing XIs are concerned, both the teams made no change in their sides.
"We are ready for both. Toss is something which is not in my control, but it is definitely getting out my control a lot (*chuckles*). The discussion was to be ready for both situations (batting/bowling first). We have done well but it is important to move on and then focus on the current game and give our best today. Same team for us," RR skipper Sanju Samson said before the match.
"We will bowl first. Told the boys not to focus on the outside and keep backing each other. We are gonna be talking about the same thing, end of the day we are looking to improve as a team. We are playing the same team. Anything around 150-160 would be good," DC captain Rishabh Pant said.
The match will see a perfect contest between two top-notch spinner Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav, popularly knows as 'KulCha'. While RR's Chahal dons the Purple Cap with 17 wickets in his kitty, DC's Kuldeep Yadav is nipping on the former's heels with 13 wickets.
Royals, riding on their Orange Cap-hodler Jos Buttler (375 runs), are a side that is looking pretty formidable at the moment even with a dysfunctional middle-order, save Shimron Hetmyer.
Kuldeep along with Axar Patel and Lalit Yadav would like to stem the run-flow but thwarting Buttler will be on top of their agenda on a Wankhede track that is expected to be good for batting.
Meanwhile, Covid-19 has hit Delhi Capitals (DC) camp again. DC head coach Ricky Ponting has been isolated following one of his family members testing positive for the virus. Following this, Ponting will not be seen in DC's dugout
