Indian Premier League (IPL) greats Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are not having the best season with the bat in the 2022 campaign. Both have not lived up to their potential, but many believe it's a matter of time before they return to the best. Joining the list of such individuals is former India captain and current Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly, who has backed the two stalwarts to start scoring soon in an interview with News18.

"They are great players and I am sure they will get back in form. I hope they start scoring runs soon. I don't know what is going on in Virat Kohli's head but I am sure he will regain his form and get some good runs. He is a great player," Ganguly said.

Former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper Virat Kohli has scored just 128 runs from nine matches at an average of 16 while Mumbai Indians (MI) captain, Rohit Sharma has also struggled, scoring 153 runs from eight matches at an average of 19.13.

Ganguly has been following IPL 2022 very closely and has been left impressed by the performances of the two new franchises Gujarat Titans (GT) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). "Oh, it's very interesting, I am watching (the IPL). Any team can win and everyone is playing well. The two new teams - Gujrat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants - are doing well," he said.

In fact, GT are the team to beat this season, having won all their closely fought matches and cementing their place at the top of the IPL table with 14 points. Meanwhile, the Super Giants are very much in the reckoning for the playoffs. They are on 10 points, the same as third-placed Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)and fifth-placed RCB.
