In a big blow to Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Team India, left-arm pacer Jaydev Unadkat got injured during a practice session on April 30 as he was gearing up for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) clash at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium on May 1.
The Saurashtra skipper's left leg hit the rope in the nets on his follow-through and lost his balance. As a result, he landed awkwardly on his shoulder. He received medical attention from the physio who tried to ice the affected area.
In the video posted on Indian Premier league (IPL) 2023, Unadkat was wincing in pain as he provided support to his left shoulder with his jersey.
Unadkat is in the squad for World Test Championship (WTC) 2021-23 final against Australia starting June 7 at the Oval.
Unadkat has played three matches for LSG in the season. He is yet to take a wicket for LSG. He was picked for his base price of Rs 50 lakh by LSG after Mumbai Indians (MI) released him before the auction.
Last year, Unadkat made a comeback into India's Test side after a long gap of 12 years. He played against Bangladesh and picked up three wickets.
There have been several injuries in the Indian camp ahead of WTC final. Shardul Thakur is not fully fit. Umesh Yadav has been injured as well. Unadkat injured his shoulder whereas KL Rahul pulled his hamstring while trying to stop a boundary.
