Former Sunrisers Hyderabad's skipper David Warner is elated after returning to Delhi Capitals' (DC) squad after a long time for the upcoming season of   the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Australian southpaw became the first pick of the IPL 2022 mega auction for the Delhi-based franchise as he was roped in for Rs 6.25 crore. Warner said he was excited to meet all the new and old fans of the Delhi-based franchise.

"Back to where it all began!! Pumped to meet up with my new team mates, owners and coaching staff. Excited to meet all the new and old fans of @delhicapitalsm" wrote Warner.

"I will need some recommendations for some new reels also," joked Warner in his post.

"Who likes my photoshop," he added.

"We've got you covered! The languages will change, the entertainment on Reels won't," the DC account commented on his post.

Warner's joke, calling for recommendations for Instagram reels, was a reference to his activity on the social media platform.

The seasoned campaigner led Sunrisers Hyderabad to their maiden IPL title in 2016. Having scored as many as 5449 runs in 150 matches at an average of 41.59, the southpaw is the fifth-highest run-getter in IPL history.

He has 4 tons and 50 half-centuries to his name.

Earlier, former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer made a hilarious remark after DC roped in Warner at such a steal deal.

“Delhi people are known to strike a bargain, but getting David Warner for just 6.25cr is a Sarojini Nagar market level bargain," Jaffer wrote.
