Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant, post the team’s 3 wickets defeat at the hands of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Tuesday in Sharjah, gave the injury updates on opener Prithvi Shaw and star all-rounder Marcus Stoinis.
Shaw missed the game against KKR, which saw Steve Smith opening with Shikhar Dhawan.
Speaking at a post-match press conference, the Delhi skipper said the Mumbai lad should return to the team by the next game. However, Pant could not give the timeline on the Australian’s comeback.
“I think Prithvi Shaw will be 80% fit by the next match. But, Stoinis may take a match or two. This is the only update I can offer as of now and you will come to know more soon.”
The Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis had limped out of the field with a hamstring injury during the team’s game against Sunrisers Hyderabad on 22 September. The incident occurred during the 9th over and the all-rounder was unable to continue and had to be taken off the field by the team’s physio Patrick Farhart.
The all-rounder had slammed 352 runs and taken 13 wickets in the last edition of the IPL. But had managed just 71 runs and 2 wickets in the first leg of the IPL 2021.
