Players ask BCCI to start their own league
According to a report in Dainik Jagran, a couple of former players have asked the BCCI secretary Jay Shah to begin India's own Legends League. The cricketers have requested and want that the league should be like IPL, with a franchise-based model where the groups bid for the players on the auction table.
The BCCI has likewise responded in a positive manner and told the cricketers to give a good thought and check all possible prospects out. A BCCI source near the development affirmed the former cricketers' proposition to the BCCI. When inquired as to whether the competition could be played for the current year, the source said that the conversations are at a beginning phase and it won't be possible to sort out an association when this year.
