Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the T20I squad for the five-T20I series against West Indies that will start later this month. Senior players Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah have been rested for the T20I series against the Nicholas Pooran-led side.
India's Caribbean tour will begin on July 22 at Queen's Park Oval, Port of Spain. The ODI series will go on till July 27. All three ODIs will be played at the same venue. It will be followed by the five-T20I series starting on July 29 at Brian Lara Stadium, Trinidad. The second and third T20Is will be played at Warner Park, Basseterre, St Kitts whereas the last two T20Is will be hosted in Lauderhill, Florida.
Recently, Shubman Gill made a comeback in the ODI team. The last ODI he played was in December 2020 against Australia. Chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav is missing from the squad as well.
Shikhar Dhawan will be leading the ODI side. The last time Dhawan led India was in 2021. Dhawan led a second-string squad in Sri Lanka. Under Dhawan's leadership, India beat Sri Lanka in the ODI series by 2-1.
