Star Afghanistan cricketer Rashid Khan is hopeful of getting fit before the India series to be held in January 2024. The two sides will be facing off in three T20I matches from January 11 to 17. Rashid recently underwent a minor lower-back surgery in the United Kingdom and will be unable to participate in the upcoming Big Bash League (BBL), which is set to commence on December 7.
Talking to Sports Tak, a close friend said, "Rashid is doing well his recovery process is going nicely and he is hoping to be fit before the India series." Another source confirmed, "The board is keeping close eyes on Rashid and his rehab, and wishes him luck to be fit and make a comeback. We are hopeful that he will be fit before the India series starts."

Rashid Khan, known for his crucial contributions in Afghanistan's notable World Cup victories against England and Pakistan in India, underwent surgery performed by a prominent UK surgeon, as confirmed by a statement from the ACB on Friday.
Before this, Rashid had indicated his possible decision to boycott the BBL as a protest against Australia's cancellation of an ODI series with Afghanistan. His non-participation in the league would be a notable setback, considering his valuable contributions to the Adelaide Strikers throughout the years.
"Rashid is a beloved member of the Strikers and a fan favourite who has been with us for seven years, so he will be extremely missed this summer," Tim Nielsen, GM of Cricket at Adelaide Strikers, said.
"Rashid loves Adelaide and the Strikers, and we know how much he loves playing in the BBL, and we support him as he has treatment for this injury to ensure his long-term involvement in the game.
"Our list management and coaching staff will now look at our options for replacing Rashid for the upcoming season and a replacement player will be announced in due course," he added.
