Former Pakistan wicketkeeper batter Kamran Akmal suggested Indian captain Rohit Sharma along with Virat Kohli to visit the neighbouring nation before announcing their retirement. He reckoned that both cricketers are the stars of world cricket and there is a big fan base because of their match-winning performances.
India last travelled to Pakistan was in 2008 for the Asia Cup after that the cricket board ended all the ties with arch-rivals because of players' safety. Earlier, Pakistan visited India for the ODI World Cup 2023. Rohit and Kohli have not played any international games in Pakistan. However, Kohli played a match in Lahore during his under-19 days.
Speaking with Times of India, Akmal said every fans in his country adore the Indian superstars.
“Virat and Rohit should visit Pakistan before they retire,” Akmal was quoted as saying by TimesofIndia.com.

following, they will experience in Pakistan will surpass anything they’ve seen elsewhere,” he added.
Kamran also said that Virat is a role model for many around the World.
“Virat is a role model for many around the world, Rohit is the World Cup-winning captain, and Bumrah is currently the best pacer in the world. When players like Virat, Rohit and Bumrah visit Pakistan, it will evoke unique feelings in every fan. Virat has been to Pakistan during his under-19 days, but he wasn’t as popular then,” Akmal said.
Will Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli visit Pakistan?
Pakistan are hosting the Champions Trophy 2025 and if everything goes according to them then both the cricketers will feature in the neighbouring nation for the marquee event. However, the chances are very low because India have not decided anything and considering BCCI's take on the last edition of the Asia Cup, India centric matches will be played at a neutral venue.
