Former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh and wife Hazel Keech have been blessed with a baby boy after his partner gave birth to their first child. The news was confirmed by the pair on Tuesday (January 25) in a post on Yuvraj's Twitter handle. The news comes as a welcome addition for the cricketer's family, who tied knots with Hazel in November 2016.

The late night tweet on Tuesday read, “To all our fans, family and friends, we are elated to share that God blessed us with a baby boy. We thank God for this blessing and wish you to respect our privacy as we welcome the little one into the world.”

The former India cricketer now joins a list of fellow World Cup winners who have started their second innings with an addition to their family. Last year in January, Virat Kohli's partner Anushka Sharma gave birth to their first child, a baby girl. While Harbhajan Singh is also now a proud father of two children. Former India captain MS Dhoni and his partner Sakshi have also been blessed with a daughter.

The versatile all-rounder was named 'Man of the Tournament' in the 2011 World Cup for his exploits with both bat and ball. In nine matches at the mega event, which was won by the hosts India, Yuvraj smashed 362 runs with a hundred and scalped 15 wickets to underline his importance. Post World Cup, the player would suffer from cancer but did make his comeback to the Indian team, which was short-lived.

The glittering 19-year career came to an end on June 10, 2019, when he announced his international retirement from all forms of the game, eight years after he had won the World Cup. He remains the only Indian player to win three different World Cups, having previously won the Under-19 World Cup in 2000 and the inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup in South Africa in 2007.

After making his debut in 2000 against Kenya in International Cricket Council (ICC) knockout Trophy, the left-handed batter Yuvraj would go on to write various chapters in his illustrious career. One of his career highlights remains the Stuart Broad over in an encounter against England in the T20 World Cup, where he smashed six sixes in an over.
