The first match between India and Sri Lanka was ended in a tie and after that the Island nation defeated India in the two consecutive ODIs to seal the series.

"It was one of those things. Sometimes you win it, sometimes you lose it. It's sports after all. All teams go through these periods. You play well but you still don't win. I will give credit to Sri Lanka. They played well. They played better than India" said Harbhajan on PTI.

Harbhajan does believe that youngsters have way more hunger than senior players as they are yet to establish themselves.

"I always believe that youngsters have much more hunger than the seniors. If you play for 15 years your hunger a little bit comes down. Great to see Riyan Parag getting the opportunities and the way Yashasvi Jaiswal is coming up and Shubman Gill is playing" added Gill.

Team India will now feature for the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh, which is scheduled to take place in India from September 19. Before that, India's senior players like of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will feature in the Duleep Trophy. India veteran speedster Mohammed Shami will also return against Bangladesh after almost one year. He last featured for India in the ODI World Cup 2023 final against Australia at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. However, there are chances that T20 World Cup winning pacer Jasprit Bumrah will miss this series due to India's upcoming busy Test schedule to World Test Championship points.
