India’s wicketkeeper-batter penned down a tribute to his coach Tarak Sinha on social media. Sinha who has provided India with several cricketers including Aakash Chopra, Ashish Nehra, Shikhar Dhawan, Anjum Chopra and others, passed away yesterday in Delhi.
“My mentor, coach, motivator, my biggest critic and my greatest fan. You took care of me like your son, I am devastated. You will always be with me whenever I walk out onto the field. My heartfelt condolences & prayers. May your soul rest in peace, Tarak sir,” the 23-year-old wrote.
Sinha took care of Pant in his school days helping him get enrolled in a school in Delhi, arranging for his accommodation. Earlier, the wicketkeeper was spotted by Sinha’s assistant Devender.
Apart from Pant, Atul Wassan, Anjum, Jhulan Goswami paid tributes to the Dronacharya Awardee on Twitter.
Meanwhile, Pant is currently preparing for India’s last group stage match against Namibia on November 8. The youngster was ballistic with the bat against Afghanistan contributing with a cameo and helping India post the highest total of the season. Pant was sent ahead of Indian skipper Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav to attack Afghan bowlers in death overs.
