Indian team script history after winning second T20I against West Indies

Indian team won the second T20I match against West Indies by 8 runs and they are currently leading the three-match T20I series 2-0. At the same time, team India, captained by Rohit Sharma in T20 International; registered a century as well after they clinched their 100th T20I victory. Indian cricket team won 100 matches in 155 T20I matches played so far. 

 

Terrific record

It is important to mention that, India's winning percentage has now become the highest in world cricket and it has also successfully overtaken the winning percentage of arch-rivals Pakistan as well. 

 

It is worth mentioning that Australia, Pakistan, West Indies and New Zealand have played more matches than India in T20 International cricket, but till now, only Pakistan cricket have more wins than the Indian team. Pakistan have so far bagged 118 wins in 189 matches. 

 

India's win percentage of 64.51 is the best among the teams that have played more than 100 matches.

 

On the other hand, winning percentage of Pakistan is 62.4 currently. On the other hand, West Indies team have so far clinched 68 wins and had to face 82 defeats in 159 T20 Internationals. In a situation like this, it can be said that the Indian cricket team is the most adept team in winning T20 matches in world cricket.

 

T20I series victory

After whitewashing the West Indies in the ODI series, Indian team already won the T20I series also. In the second T20I of the series, India set a challenging target of 187 runs against West Indies.

 

In response, the West Indies team could score 178 runs losing three wickets in 20 overs and subsequently they had to face a defeat by 8 runs in the exciting match. Because of this defeat, West Indies team had to concede a defeat in the T20I series as well.

 

On the other hand, team India will aim for a whitewash in the T20I series after decimating West Indies 3-0 in the recently concluded ODI series. However, former India skipper Virat Kohli will not be available for the Indian team for this match as he has been rested. 

 

The third and final T20I match of the series will be played on February 20 (Saturday), at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
