They have been placed in Pool C, where they will face tough competition from the Republic of Korea, Spain, and Canada. The tournament, featuring under-21 players, will span 12 days and take place at the Malaysia National Hockey Stadium in Kuala Lumpur. India enter the competition as a force to be reckoned with, having clinched victory at the Junior Hockey Asia Cup 2023 in Oman earlier in the year. They hold the distinguished position of being the top-ranked side in Pool C, boasting a world ranking of No. 3.

India's journey in the tournament commences with a clash against the 11th-ranked South Korea. After a day of rest, they will face a formidable challenge in the form of Spain, currently ranked sixth in the world. The group stage will conclude with a match against Canada, currently positioned at No. 14 globally.
 

Among the other noteworthy teams, defending champions Argentina, holding the title of world No. 1, are placed in Pool A alongside former champions Australia. Pool B features Germany, the most successful team in the tournament's history with six titles to their name. Group D is packed with strong contenders, including European powerhouses Belgium and the Netherlands, and Asian giants Pakistan, and New Zealand.
 

How many teams will play in the tournament?
 

This 13th edition of the Junior Men’s Hockey World Cup will witness 16 teams, evenly distributed into four groups (A–D), vying for the top two positions within their groups to secure a coveted spot in the quarter-finals. Teams finishing at the bottom of their groups will continue in the classification rounds.
