India had a great start in the Paris Olympics 2024 on 6th August. In wrestling, Vinesh Phogat made it to the semi-finals. Neeraj Chopra entered the finals with a strong javelin throw. Along with this, the Indian hockey team would also like to win the Olympic gold medal after 44 years by defeating Germany in the semi-finals. Let us know who India will have to defeat for the gold medal in all three events.
Vinesh Phogat
In women's 50 kg freestyle wrestling, Vinesh Phogat defeated world number one and 2020 Tokyo Olympics gold medalist Yui Susaki of Japan 3-2 in the first match. After this, in the quarterfinal match, Vinesh defeated Oksana Livach of Ukraine 7-5 and made it to the semi-finals. Now Vinesh will face Cuba's Guzman Lopez in the semi-finals and by defeating her, Vinesh will be assured of a medal as soon as she reaches the finals. If Vinesh's winning streak continues in her third Olympics, then she can win the gold medal for the country by winning the final.

Neeraj Chopra
India's golden boy and 2020 Tokyo Olympics gold medalist Neeraj Chopra has again raised golden hopes. Neeraj threw the javelin 89.34 meters to reach the finals and no other athlete could cross this distance in the qualification. Due to this, the hopes of a gold medal from Neeraj have increased again. After Neeraj, Yakub Wadlach threw the javelin at a distance of 88.65 meters and only Anderson Peters, who was in third place, could give him competition. But if Neeraj's performance continues then no one will be able to stop him from winning gold.
India Hockey Team
The wonderful journey of the Indian hockey team continues in the Paris Olympics. India has lost only one match so far, against Belgium. But the Belgian team is out. Now if the Indian team defeats Germany in the semi-finals, then in the final it will face the winning team of the other semi-final match between Netherlands and Spain. If Hockey Team India wins both the matches, then for the first time since 1980, hockey in India will regain its lost golden honour.
