Indian star fencer and Olympian CA Bhavani Devi has won the Charleville National Competition in the Women’s Sabre Individual event in France on Sunday.
The Indian Olympian tweeted about her recent achievement,
“Won the Charlellville National Competition, France in the Women’s Sabre Individual. Many thanks to coach Christian Bauer, Arnaud Schneider and all teammates Congratulations to all for a great start of the season,” tweeted Bhavani.
Devi created history by becoming the first ever Indian fencer to represent India at the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics in July this year. The Indian fencer won her round of 64 match against Tunisia’s Nadia Ben Azizi and made the country sit up and take note of the new sport and her talent before going down to eventual bronze-medalists Manon Brunet of France in the round of 32.
