Derrick Rose rule that may see Luka Doncic sign a record $360 million deal

Derrick Rose was the most electrifying player in his prime and even won the NBA MVP award in the third season that he featured. Meanwhile, being on a rookie contract with the Chicago Bulls, he also won the Rookie of the Year and had three All-Stars selections.

To all the accolades Rose achieved early on in his career, he prompted the NBA to add a new rule to the Collective Bargaining Agreement that is also known as the 'Derrick Rose Rule'. As per the rule, if a player who is on his rookie contract earns two ALL-NBA team selections, has been selected twice as an All-Star starter or wins the NBA MVP is eligible for a max contract that is 35% of the team's salary cap.

According to that rule, Luka Doncic is eligible to sign a massive contract next offseason that can go up to $346 million. Luka Doncic has seen his name in the All-NBA team for five straight seasons starting from the second year he started playing in the NBA.
