LeBron James and Los Angeles Lakers are in a spit of bother as there are reports that both sides aren't on the same page. This could potentially mean that they are parting ways. While there hasn't been any official statement from both the sides, recent reports have kept the momentum on the case going.
Luka Doncic could help LeBron James win fifth championship
According to a report on Wednesday, it is revealed that LeBron James is frustrated with the front office ever since they traded Russell Westbrook. During the 2021 summer, LA Lakers traded one time MVP, who was then playing for Washington Wizards. The team gave up Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Montrezi Harrell and No.22 pick of the draft that year.
With Russell Westbrook in their side, the Los Angeles Lakers didn't achieve much. The guard was also not fitting in with LeBron James and Anthony Davis in the team's attempt to form a big 3.
ClutchPoints' Anthony Irwin reported on Wednesday about James' frustration with the franchise. According to Irwin, no trade would give the four time champion a better shot at winning the title than the Luka Doncic deal.
On LeBron James’ side, there is real frustration over the Lakers’ lack of direction since the Russell Westbrook trade, Irwin said. The whole thing has become pretty awkward, and yet the reality is they’re both better off with each other.
There is no trade the Lakers would make that would give James a better chance at a title than he has playing with Doncic.
After securing his fourth ring in 2020, James was after the elusive fifth championship. However, since then, the Lakers have struggled to build a competitive team around the superstar.
The team saw a dip in their performances following their championship run against the Miami Heat. The management let go of key players or didn't re-sign them during the free agency. It will be interesting to see how things pan out in the future amid his retirement rumors too.
