LA Lakers star player LeBron James' son Bronny James revealed his father's rival Steph Curry's message to him after his best-of-17-points outing in the preseason against the Golden State Warriors on Friday, 18th October. The 20-year-old rookie caught up with the two-time MVP after his first start. Meanwhile, Steph Curry wasn't playing because of a finger injury.

Bronny James shares Steph Curry's words of encouragement

The 36-year-old Curry made sure to give some advice to Bronny after his decent outing following a run of poor performances in the preseason. While talking to Spectrum SportsNet, Bronny was asked about his conversation with Curry.

"Mainly just him telling me to play my game and be myself. Also just giving some pointers on things to do in certain situations, but nothing too crazy," Bronny said.

Bronny got to play against Steph Curry and guard him when the Warriors faced the Lakers on Tuesday night. But on Friday, Curry did not play and Bronny faced the rest of the Warriors rotation for 35 minutes he featured.

Bronny did not disappoint and made the most of the outing with a preseason-high 17 points, shooting 7 out of 17. He also registered four rebounds and three steals. His first shot came from the deep but went 1 of 5 from 3.

It was a good outing for LeBron James' eldest son who had a run of poor games. Twice in five games, he went scoreless.

Bronny James on getting back his confidence

Bronny James suffered a cardiac arrest in August and that slowed down his basketball career to a degree. It also delayed his college debut and his short stint at USC, where he didn't have a good time. He only played 25 games and registered 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists in his single NCAA season.

He got drafted after his first season and many thought that he was underprepared for the NBA. He revealed that he has not been 100% since his health care. While talking to Men's Health, Bronny said, "My days aren’t normal anymore. I still feel like I’m getting back to where I was."

It was evident in Bronny's initial few months as a Laker player. He didn't have a good start to Summer League but found his rhythm in the end. The same happened in the preseason as well. Bronny made sure that he made the most out of his opportunity against the Warriors and had a solid outing.

"It gives me just a little bit of confidence going into the season even though I might not be in that rotation, might not be playing, but just going into practice, maybe G League games with that confidence in myself to go out there and play my game," Bronny added.
