On Monday, the Dallas Mavericks assigned Anthony Davis to the G League's Texas Legends as part of his rehab from a left adductor strain. The move should offer Davis more practice time, even if the team has not announced when or if he will return this season. Anthony Davis' Unfortunate Start with Dallas Mavericks

Davis, 32, was the Mavericks' significant return in the February 1 trade that sent superstar Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Davis was in the midst of a standout debut with the Dallas Mavericks against the Houston Rockets on February 8, scoring 26 points, 16 rebounds, seven assists, and three blocks in 31 minutes before leaving late in the third quarter due to an injury.  He has been sidelined since.

In his 13th NBA season, the 10-time All-Star is averaging 25.7 points, 12.0 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 2.2 blocks over 43 games (all starts).

The Mavericks also assigned guard Jaden Hardy to the Legends. He's missed the last seven games due to a sprained right ankle. Hardy, 22, is in his third season with Dallas and has averaged 8.0 points and 15.2 minutes in 46 games (three starts).
