Kevin Durant shares his thoughts after he got to know about the historic three-team deal in which the LA Lakers acquired Luka Doncic in exchange for Anthony Davis. Durant was part of something like this back in 2017 when he made his move from one team to another. On Saturday, February 1, Durant was at the receiving end as he experienced something similar happen in the National Basketball Association (NBA).

What did Kevin Durant say about the Luka Doncic-Anthony Davis trade?

According to ESPN's Shams Charania, Anthony Davis will now play for the Dallas Mavericks and Luka Doncic will share the dressing room with LeBron James on the Lakers roster. As the Phoenix Suns lost to the Portland Trail Blazers (127-108), Durant got to know about the deal and shared his thoughts.

This got to be the biggest trade I've seen since I've been in the league or since I've been watching the sport, Durant told reporters. This is insane.

Apart from being shocked at what just happened, Durant shed light on the individuals who make it possible for these deals to happen.

Players are held to a different standard of loyalty and commitment to a program, but the organizations don't get held to that same standard from the outside, said the Phoenix Suns forward.

Over the last seven years, Durant left the Oklahoma City Thunder as a free agent to join the Golden State Warriors. He was at the receiving end of heavy criticism from fans who claimed that his decision to join the Warriors led to an unwanted 'superteam'.

Since making his move to the Warriors, Durant won two championships.

Kevin Durant might play with the next headliner of the 2025 trade season

Kevin Durant, who is just a mere spectator when it comes to the Doncic-Davis trade, might very well share the court with a player who is going to be in the headlines over the next few days.

The Phoenix Suns have been long linked with Miami Heat superstar Jimmy Butler. NBA insider, Brian Windhorst reported that the front office of Heat is working towards a trade for Butler.

They are willing to do more than they were when this all started last month, Windhorst said. The Heat are trying to get this done.

As the Heat have lowered their asking price, the Suns might have made their moves in securing a Durant-Butler partnership.
