It's not like Cuban is jealous of James but he wants him gone because he is still best at what he does and Cuban doesn't want Mavericks to deal with him

Mark Cuban recently spoke about LeBron James' retirement talks. The Los Angeles Lakers star will turn 40 in the next two months and is still operating at a high level. James previously mentioned that he would keep on playing for a couple of years before hanging his boots.

What did Mark Cuban say about LeBron James' retirement?

During a conversation with TMZ Sports, the minority owner of Dallas Mavericks, Mark Cuban sent a clear message to the LA Lakers star. "Yes, LeBron, it’s time for you to quit. I’m tired of you,” Cuban said.

It's not like Cuban is jealous of James but he wants him gone because he is still best at what he does and Cuban doesn't want Mavericks to deal with him. "No, I’m bein’ serious, only ’cause he’s still so good,” Cuban said. “He’s on the Lakers. They’re our rivals, so, it’s time to retire, LeBron," Cuban added.

LA Lakers have not faced the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA playoffs for quite some time. But both the teams have had exciting games in the regular season. Last season, the LA Lakers were eliminated by the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the postseason and the Mavericks secured a spot in the finals, where they lost out to Boston Celtics in five games.

This season both the teams have made changes to their rosters and the coaching staff as well.

Dallas Mavericks were close to trading Kobe Bryant: Mark Cuban

In the year 2007, Cuban tried to influence the career of another LA Lakers player Kobe Bryant. During that time, Cuban wanted to get Bryant to the Mavericks and according to the former, the deal was close to getting done.

While talking to Shaquille O'Neal on his podcast, Cuban said, "Do you realize how close we were to trading for Kobe in 2007? I was literally this close. I talked to Jerry Buss and worked something out with Jerry because Kobe had asked to leave. Jerry said, 'Ok, if you want to leave, we'll take care of it.'"
