Following a shock transfer from the LA Lakers, Anthony Davis made his debut for the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday in the game against the Rockets. Anthony Davis Injury Update

Anthony Davis made an impactful start for the Mavericks, scoring 26 points, registering 16 rebounds and 7 assists, to eventually orchestrate Mavericks' convincing 116-105 victory over the Rockets. It would have been a perfect premier appearance for Davis in the Mavs jersey, but the injury forced him out and as per an update he would miss considerable time in the season due to the injury.

"Dallas Mavericks star power forward/center Anthony Davis is expected to sit out multiple weeks because of a left adductor strain, sources told ESPN on Sunday night. His absence could stretch to a month, sources said, because of an injury that cut short his spectacular debut with his new franchise," Shams Charania and Tim MacMahon of ESPN reported.

Anthony Davis' Injury Appears to be Major

Davis' injury status comes as a huge setback for the Mavericks, as they offloaded Luka Doncic, who finally recovered recently and made his debut for the Lakers. According to Windhorst, how Davis and the Mavericks have handled this injury implies that it is not a minor one, which is precisely what the team and their fans don't want to hear.

"They've spent the last couple of days getting consultations and opinions on how to treat this injury," Windhorst said on "Get Up." "I'm not going to speculate, but obviously when you get the MRI and then you start calling a bunch of doctors, it doesn't imply that it's minor."
