MS Dhoni has filed a criminal complaint against ex-business partners of Aarka Sports.

Dhoni accused them of cheating him of over Rs 15 crore.

Cricketing icon Mahendra Singh Dhoni has filed a criminal case against Mihir Diwakar and Soumya Vishwash of Aarka Sports and Management Limited in a Ranchi court. In 2017, Diwakar purportedly agreed with Dhoni to establish a global cricket academy. However, Diwakar failed to comply with the specified conditions in the agreement. Aarka Sports was obligated to pay a franchise fee and share profits as per the agreement's terms, which were not fulfilled.

Despite numerous attempts, the terms and conditions outlined in the agreement were consistently ignored. As a result, Dhoni revoked the authority letter granted to Aarka Sports on August 15th, 2021, and issued several legal notices, all of which went unanswered.

Dayanand Singh, representing Dhoni through Vidhi Associates, alleges that Aarka Sports deceived and cheated them, resulting in a loss exceeding Rs 15 crore.

The 42-year-old recently returned home after spending New Year's in Dubai with family and friends. India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant accompanied Dhoni during the trip.

Pant joined Dhoni in Dubai for the IPL 2024 mini-auction, held in the UAE on December 19. Pant, recovering from multiple injuries sustained in a life-threatening car crash in December 2022, sat with the Delhi Capitals (DC) team management and owner during the auction.

Both Dhoni and Pant are anticipated to make their return to competitive cricket during IPL 2024, marking what is expected to be Dhoni's farewell season in the lucrative league. Despite grappling with a wobbly knee at the age of 41, Dhoni successfully led the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to their fifth title in 2023.

After undergoing knee surgery at Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai, Dhoni's recovery garnered significant attention. Throughout his rehabilitation period, the cricket icon spent time in Ranchi before making a public reappearance. Notably, he participated in activities such as exploring vintage cars and interacting with fans.

CSK CEO, Kasi Viswanathan, delivered a positive update on Dhoni's health, affirming that his recovery was on track. Dhoni, in turn, conveyed optimism about his rehabilitation, mentioning that during the rehab phase, he faced no disruptions in his day-to-day routine.
