Talking more about the practice session, in terms of their batting preparations, the top-order batsmen of the Indian cricket team, including the likes of Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Kohli, were quick to step into the practice nets. Here, they confronted the team's formidable fast bowling unit, which also featured the versatile all-rounder, Hardik Pandya. Kohli, in particular, had an extensive net session, while Pandya displayed his remarkable power-hitting ability by sending the ball soaring into the stands with breathtaking shots over the cover region.
Meanwhile, in a separate practice net, the experienced spinner Ravichandran Ashwin bowled to the all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. Simultaneously, Shreyas Iyer honed his skills by facing specialized throwdown deliveries. In the neighboring nets, Ishan Kishan, who had featured in the initial two games against Australia and Afghanistan, took on the bowling duo of Mohammed Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav in a coordinated fashion.
KL Rahul, the wicketkeeper-batsman for the Indian team, initially focused on his fielding drills before gearing up for his batting session. He found Kohli nearby, who was diligently working on facing throwdown deliveries. Other players, including Gill, temporarily left the nets for their fielding practice. In a noteworthy turn of events, Gill, after some rigorous catching practice, returned to the batting crease and engaged in a contest with Kishan, showcasing his striking abilities with a series of commanding shots.
As the extensive three-hour practice session neared its conclusion, the team's batting coach, Vikram Rathour, assumed the role of delivering throwdowns to Suryakumar Yadav. This additional training period allowed Suryakumar to refine his explosive batting techniques, even though he occasionally mistimed his strokes. Rathour couldn't contain his enthusiasm and celebrated when he managed to dismiss Suryakumar with a well-executed short-pitched delivery.
