Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma returned to India's T20I fold after a 14-month hiatus.

Both the batter are participating in the ongoing T20I series against Afghanistan.

India's legendary batter and World Cup-winner Yuvraj Singh finds no issue with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli rejoining the T20 team after a 14-month break, especially with the upcoming World Cup in sight. Both players were selected for the current three-match T20 series against Afghanistan, which is India's final international fixture before the World Cup set to take place in the USA and the Caribbean.

Their inclusion sparked a debate about whether it was a step forward for the team. Yuvraj, unimpressed by the controversy surrounding their return, downplayed it by quoting lyrics from a famous song by Kishore Kumar: "Kuchh toh log kahenge, logon ka kaam hai kehna." With this, he emphasised the need to ignore criticism and remain focused on the objective.

"It's because they play all the three formats, they are back after 14 months. You have to manage your workload if you play the three formats. It's a question for the selectors," he added.

Yuvraj all praise for Rohit Sharma

Yuvraj Singh lauded Rohit Sharma as a pivotal leader of the Indian cricket team. He emphasized Rohit's successful track record, noting, "I can say Rohit has been a great captain he's got five IPL trophies, he took us to the (World Cup) final. He has been one of our great captains of IPL and India. We have to manage his workload." Yuvraj also highlighted the importance of managing Rohit's workload to maintain his performance level.

Rohit vs Hardik for T20 World Cup Captaincy

Regarding the choice between Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya for the captaincy role in the upcoming T20 World Cup, Yuvraj expressed uncertainty about Hardik's current fitness status. "I don't know what's the situation with Hardik's fitness at the moment. That is selectors' call," he said. Notably, Hardik Pandya is set to lead Rohit, the five-time IPL winning captain, in the forthcoming season for Mumbai Indians.

Addressing Potential Ego Clashes

On the subject of any possible ego conflicts between the players, Yuvraj advised open communication. "When players play together, these things happen. If they have an issue, they should definitely sit and talk about it," he said. Yuvraj praised Rohit for his role in enhancing Hardik's performance in the Mumbai Indians team, especially regarding bowling and workload management.

"Hardik has always been always good with the bat at death. Batting at 4 for Gujarat, he batted like a batter." "They should definitely talk about it. I don't see an issue there," he said about the situation when Rohit is back leading Team India.

"Whenever you are playing for your country, your priority is to put everything aside and give your 100 percent in the park. They both are professionals, if they have any issue they will put it aside and give 100 percent for the country," Yuvraj concluded.
