Discussions often lead to heated exchanges between players in the studio. However, in a bizarre incident, former Indian opener and selector K Srikanth injured Hemang Badani on Day 1 of the Asia Cup clash.

The incident was not visible on the screen but Srikkanth's unintended swing of the bat while explaining a shot hit Badani on the right elbow. Badani was wincing in pain and eventually went off screen to get it looked at.

After the incident, many enquired about Badani's health. The former cricketer took to Twitter to reply to his fans. "To all enquiring how I am, I [am] in terrible pain but luckily no fracture. Its blunt trauma and am [sic] under medication. Hope to recover soon and be back on the sets,” the 45-year-old wrote.

In Asia Cup 2022 opener, Sri Lanka were outclassed by Afghanistan. Only three Sri Lankan batters scored in double digits as they were bundled out for 105. Left-arm pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi took three wickets for 11 runs in 3.4 overs.

Afghanistan chased down the target of 106 in just 61 deliveries. Hazratullah Zazai remained unbeaten for 28-ball 37. In the powerplay overs, Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored quickfire 40 off just 19 deliveries before getting out to Wanindu Hasaranga.

Afghanistan won the match by eight wickets and boosted their net run rate (NRR) that may come in handy in the latter stages of the tournament.

On Day 2 of Asia Cup, India take on Pakistan at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Virat Kohli marks his return to the field after a month-long break. This is also Kohli’s 100th T20I game. He is the first Indian cricketer and second overall to play 100 or more games in each format.
