Virat Kohli is not just loved in India but across the border as well. Fans line up to get a glimpse of the modern day great. Many fans even break security protocols to meet the former Indian skipper. As Indian squad reached UAE for Asia Cup 2022, a Pakistan fan tried to meet Kohli but was stopped by the security personnel at the ICC Academy ground.
Lahore-born fan, Mohammad Jibran was desperate to get a photo clicked with Kohli. The 33-year-old took notice of the fan who screamed that he has come all this way to be in the same frame as him. Later, he fulfilled the fan’s wish and others by posing for a few photos with them.
"I am not a fan of anyone but Virat Kohli, for whom I have come from Pakistan hoping to get a picture clicked with him. I waited for an entire month for this so the moment he finished his practice and was about to go back to his hotel, I tried a lot. He is an amazing person besides being a fabulous cricketer. He listened to me and agreed to my request of getting the selfie clicked," the fan told PakTV.
Jibran also said that Kohli is his favourite and he does not have any pictures clicked with Pakistan cricketers.
Kohli's fan from across the border wants him to return to form as soon as possible. Also, he does not care if he regains form in defending champions' clash against Pakistan on August 27.
In the previous clash against Pakistan, Kohli scored a half-century after India lost three quick wickets in the powerplay overs. In the absence of left-arm pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi, Rohit Sharma-led India will back themselves to avenge the historic loss endured in T20 World Cup 2021.
