The Indian team on August 24 (Wednesday) carried out an extensive practice session ahead of their clash against arch-rivals Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2022. The tournament begins on August 27 but the Men in Blue will start their campaign on August 28 (Sunday) against Pakistan. In the practice session on Wednesday evening, Virat Kohli, who is making a return to the Indian side after a lengthy break, looked in scintillating touch as he whacked the bowlers in the nets.
The former India captain unleashed a plethora of big hits against Ravindra Jadeja and Yuzvendra Chahal as interim head coach VVS Laxman monitored India's net session.

Kohli has been in the spotlight in the buildup of the Asia Cup. The maverick Indian batter is enduring the longest lean patch of his career. He hasn't scored an international hundred in more than 1,000 days now. But looking at how Kohli smacked the Indian bowlers during the net session, that elusive break-free knock is hovering around the corner.
Meanwhile, Team India has won the Asia Cup title a record seven times and is now gunning to increase the count to eight. The final of the tournament is scheduled to be played on September 11.
